Tonight I discovered an old post, so far unpublished. But other than that post, you haven't seen or heard much from our family since the end of January. Instead of catching up on events, I'd like to just share a few photos and write about our curren activities.
Laurel keeping us busy this spring with time spent on the swings and in the sandbox, when the weather cooperates. We've done some visiting with the grandparents, and so far this month, we've caught up with them all.
In addition to training Rukia to stay in the yard with the new invisible fence (she's doing awesome by the way), we've been working in the yard, and planning a vegetable garden in a garden plot we're renting. Since we have so many trees and very little sunshine in our yard during the summer months, we can barely grow grass. So this year we've been planning a 30' x 25' garden on some rented ground, and starting seed outside in a seedling tray, waiting for warmer summer days.
Our Rowan tree is starting to leaf out. I was a bit concerned about is as last year the rabbits got to the trunk of the tree and chewed on it. I treated it and wrapped it up. I think its going to do just fine. Its a late blooming tree that kept me in suspence this year.
The Saturday before Easter, we went to an Easter Egg Hunt at the local zoo. We waited a fair amount of time before the allowed time to do the hunt, and then we had to limit ourselves only five eggs. Laurel managed to restrain herself from collecting more that her fair share. She was pretty excited to get stickers and free carousel rides.
And after the egg hunt, we did a quick trip through the zoo. It was a brisk day, but not too brisk to chase us away from our favorite exhibits. Check out my April web album for more photos.
Wrapping up my posts are sometimes hard to do. So instead I'll leave you with my silent sign-off an my daily inspiration.
