December 2011 recap

We just returned from Northern Michigan, where the weather was not too terrible. We even had sun one day. But the trip home was a little bit dicy - as we are learning more about things called "lake effect snow", "snow belts" and "snow thunder." It was a good first trip to our new little place on Lake Leelanau. We got lots of cleaning done, and thanks to our good friends, the Bosch's -who gave us a real head start - we can even start working on removing wallpaper, and painting. We are really looking forward to many a family vacation at this little oasis. You can see photos of our progress here.

While we were in Michigan, we did get to this little project - gingerbread dog houses. It was very messy and we laughed a lot.

Here's our big bad pussycat Rukia, enjoying a little sun on Christmas morning. We'll soon be celebrating her joining our household just a year ago this Janauary. I really enjoy her company, and she's got a great personality.

If you haven't seen Laurel's Christmas photo this year, here it is. You can see the rest in my Decemeber 2011 album.    You'll also find a few photos from her Holiday Program at pre-school.  Very Cute.
Laurel you are such a sweet and loving girl. Rowan Margaret - I miss you so.

I also assembled a collage of Christmas photos I've taken over the last 5 years.

Now that we are home for a few weeks, we are beginning to reflect on the year past, thinking about the what the next year holds for us. And as I think about my resolutions for the year, I've noticed that I posted infrequently here in the last 12 months. Hopefully, my schedule will allow me to do more of those endeavors I enjoy so much, like writing, photography, quilting, spending time with friends and family, working on projects around the house, taking better care of myself, etc.
Which brings me to a resolution for 2012: play more and work smarter.

What do you have in mind for 2012?
